Telehealth therapy offers a modern and accessible path to healing, growth, and self-discovery. From the comfort and convenience of your own space, we will connect in real-time via video sessions or phone calls. Telehealth therapy saves you time, money, energy, and gas. This format also allows us to incorporate real-life triggers from your home environment, enhancing therapy modalities like Exposure Response Prevention.
Our electronic health records system, Simple Practice, includes a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Prior to each appointment, Simple Practice will send you a unique link to easily access our session.
Optimize our video calls by:
Good lighting: Please position yourself in a well-lit space or use a light source in front of you. This helps to ensure clear visibility and enhances our connection.
Keep your camera steady: Use a device stand, tripod, or lean your phone against something stable to hold your camera. This helps with the quality of our video calls and ensures an uninterrupted therapeutic experience.
Sit in a quiet environment: Choose a quiet and private location where you can freely express yourself without interruptions or distractions.
Consider using headphones or earbuds: These can improve audio quality and ensure confidentiality during our sessions.
I cannot conduct sessions while you’re driving.
I recommend starting with weekly sessions unless otherwise specified. As we progress, we can adjust the frequency based on your needs and goals for therapy.
The length of therapy can vary from person to person, depending on factors like the nature of the concerns you're addressing, your motivation, and the progress you make in treatment. Because of this, I can’t provide a specific timeline for treatment before our first meeting.
Research shows that telehealth therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy, and in some cases, even more effective. This is particularly true for modalities like Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, where having access to real-life triggers in the comfort of your own environment can enhance the treatment process.
If you prefer to see a therapist in person, or if in-person therapy is necessary for your treatment, you can visit the ICODF.org directory to find a provider near you.
I am a private pay therapist which means I do not accept insurance. I do not participate in any insurance network. I do not bill insurance companies, communicate with insurance companies, or accept payment from insurance companies. If desired, I can provide you with a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
A superbill is a detailed receipt I provide that includes the dates of your sessions, fees, and specific codes that insurance companies require for reimbursement. You would then submit this superbill to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Keep in mind that to qualify for reimbursement, insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis. The amount you may receive back depends on your out-of-network benefits, which you can check with your insurance provider.
I cannot guarantee reimbursement.
I offer both in-person sessions in Canton, Ohio, and virtual telehealth sessions to accommodate your needs and preferences. In-person sessions are held at 4960 Higbee Ave NW, Suite 101, Canton, Ohio 44718.
